I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you! As you are reading this, you may be currently in Year 11 or thinking about moving to another Sixth Form after having started A-levels and I hope that the information contained in this prospectus will provide you with a flavour of life in the Sixth Form at Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy. I think that education after GCSE can be one of the most exciting times in one’s educational career and I firmly believe that we at Christ the King offer a range of experiences and opportunities which will prepare young people for higher education or the world of work. Our core mission is to ‘provide the best education for all members of our Living Faith Community’. Our teachers and support staff are extremely committed to our Sixth Form ensuring that all students strive for excellence academically, spiritually and socially. I would very much encourage you to find out more about our Sixth Form provision and in doing so, discover what a special place it can be to learn and study.

I very much look forward to meeting you soon!

Carlo Cuomo—Principal

Welcome to Christ the King Sixth Form! Both of us have been lucky to be at Christ the King since Year 7 and have thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of school life.

The decision of what to do after you leave school is a hugely important one, which is why it is essential to make sure it is the right one for you. Christ the King Sixth Form is unique amongst others in many ways. Relationships with teachers are brilliant, allowing you to comfortably ask for help or answers for any questions you may have. Not only do we receive fantastic A-level tuition, but we are proud of our incredibly close-knit group of students; our prefect team and the amount of social, volunteer and careers opportunities that will be available for you here. This is very important in preparing Sixth Formers for life outside A-levels, and giving all students the tools and guidance they need to shape the rest of their lives. But don’t just take our word for it, come and see what we have to offer.

Pastoral care

We are very proud of the pastoral care we offer our students, this ensures that our students make the best progress possible and are fully supported with decisions about their future. Our Sixth Form is divided into 6 tutor groups, each one is attached to one of our Houses meaning that the Sixth Form is an integral part of school life. They will see their form tutor every day for 20 minutes to receive support with their studies and future aspirations.

For our internal applicants, they will receive detailed one-to-one support in selecting A-levels throughout Year 11 and the Head of Sixth Form will be available on GCSE Results Day to confirm options and discuss any queries about A-levels or the Sixth Form.
