Learning Resource Centre

We are very proud of our Learning Resource Centre here at Christ The King Catholic Voluntary Academy. The effecient systems which are managed and supervised by our experienced librarian provide our students with a superb learning resource from which to learn. It is a hive of academic activity during the daytime especially between classes where our students are eager to to check and avail of our extensive book collection. Students also have access here to personal computers with their own passwords so that the can use materials within the library room. The library can also be used as a quite study area for our pupils to carry out revision or applied research.

Opens at 8:15am each morning and is open after school until 4:30pm.

Open every morning break and lunch.

English / LRC timetabled reading lessons for all year 7 and 8 pupils.

The LRC has a very sophisticated Library management system. It has biometric recognition and all pupils are put on the system with their finger print.

Years 7 and 8 have access to the accelerated reader website that supports their literacy. Books are also levelled to support and maximise their progress.

The LRC has over 7,000 books and has 12 PCs.

Homework Club is Mon Thu from 3.05pm – 4.30pm.

Assembly Hall

Our  Assembly Hall at Christ The King Catholic Voluntary Academy is located at the front of the school. It is used for many functions within the school curriculum as well as many of the activities which involve parents and members of the public such as school plays and concerts. It is fully equipped with both modern lighting, overhead projection and sound systems for the stage area. Comfortable seating is also provided and and these are foldable so that the layout of the hall can be customised to suit the activity. During the working week at Christ The King Catholic Voluntary Academy it can be seen as one of the busiest areas at it is utilised by our drama, music and physical education once the assembly and morning prayers have been completed.
