Welcome Vinnie – CTK’s School Dog!

We are very excited to welcome Vinnie Reign, our new paw-some furry friend at Christ the King! As a licensed therapy dog, Vinnie will be working with our Pastoral Support team.

But why did we choose the name Vinnie Reign for our school dog?

At our school, the motto Christus Vincit, Christus Regnat – Christ conquers, Christ reigns – is central to who we are and what we value. It reminds us daily of hope, strength, compassion, and the guiding presence that shapes our community.

When choosing a name for our school dog, we wanted something that reflected this identity while also being friendly, memorable, and meaningful for our pupils. The name Vinnie Reign does exactly that.

“Vinnie” echoes Vincit, connecting our school dog to the message of perseverance, courage, and overcoming challenges. These are qualities we aim to nurture in every child, and Vinnie will play a key role in supporting wellbeing, confidence, and emotional resilience.

“Reign” links to Regnat, symbolising calm, reassurance, and positive presence. The role Vinnie will fulfil throughout the school as he helps children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Together, Vinnie Reign is a name that honours our school motto while giving our school dog a warm, approachable identity. Day to day, pupils will simply call him Vinnie, a friendly companion who embodies the values we hold dear and helps bring them to life in our school community.
