Curriculum Intent
The Child Development curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced, and inclusive education that empowers students to understand the key principles of child development, from conception to early childhood. Grounded in the values of Catholicity and faith, this curriculum emphasises the importance of nurturing children with compassion, care, and integrity, while promoting an understanding of the moral, ethical, and social responsibilities that come with working in the field of child development. Students will study a range of topics, including the stages of development, health and well-being, factors that influence development, and the roles of parents, carers, and professionals in supporting children. Through a challenging and engaging curriculum, we aim to inspire students to pursue careers that positively influence the lives of children, families, and communities.
