Admissions

“The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.”

HOW TO APPLY

In Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Nottinghamshire County Council by completing the LA Common Application Form and following the instructions on the LA website.

If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this to the Admissions Officer at Christ the King.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements (see below) for 2024/25 will be applied.  Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact Mrs Webb – admissions@christtheking.notts.sch.uk

You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority, Nottinghamshire County Council on 0300 500 80 80.

Please also visit the Nottingham County Council Website for more details on changing school in-year.

All applications must be made via the Nottinghamshire County Council Admissions Hub.

We do not accept applications made directly to the school.

Year 6 into Year 7 Admissions

All applications must be made via the Nottinghamshire County Council Admissions Hub.

We do not accept applications made directly to the school.

As we are a faith school we do require some additional documentation from you if you are applying on the basis of religion. You will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form. Please complete it and send it to us along with a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate. These documents can either be posted to the school or emailed to admissions@christtheking.notts.sch.uk

Please be aware that if we do not receive the completed Supplementary Information Form and a copy of the Baptism Certificate by 31 October, it could result in your child being placed in a lower admissions category in the over-subscription criteria and may affect your child’s chance of being offered a place.

Waiting Lists

Christ the King is a very popular and oversubscribed school in all year groups. As such, waiting lists are maintained for each year group.

When a new application is received it is added to the waiting list and this list is then ranked as and when a school place becomes available. Places are then offered in accordance with the Policy. The date of the application is not relevant to the ranking.

An applicant may only apply once for a place in a given academic year. Waiting lists only apply for one year so applicants will need to re-apply for the following year if they still require a place.
