Welcome

Christ the King Sixth Form is an environment which enables every student to achieve both their academic and personal potential. We are committed to ensuring that we set the highest academic standards for our students in an ambitious and supportive environment.

Students stay here because of the special relationships they have with their teachers. Students understand that they will be supported every step of the way through their A Levels. Our students aim high and we encourage them to be ambitious in chasing their dreams. They also understand that, with hard work, they will do very well here in their A Levels: the vast majority of CTK students achieve their first-choice destination after their A Levels.

Our Sixth Form is at the heart of our school community and we pride ourselves on both our academic and pastoral support. Our personal development programme, supportive tutors and committed and passionate teachers offer care and guidance that makes Christ the King a wonderful place to study and grow.

Our mission is ‘To provide the best education and care we can for all members of our living faith community’ and we are proud in how the young people in our care flourish personally and academically during their time here.

We understand that the step up from GCSE to A Levels can be daunting. Our transition programme is designed to support our new sixth form students in making this step. This starts in Year 11 when our taster days give them the opportunity to spend a day as a Sixth Former, sampling A Level lessons in subjects that they are interested in, and using our Sixth Form facilities. They will spend a day in the summer term after their GCSEs preparing for the subjects that they have chosen to study at Key Stage 5.

Our transition programme from September focuses on academic skills and your child’s well-being, ensuring that they have all the strategies needed to make the most of the opportunities that life at our Sixth Form brings.

Our Learning to Learn Programme and VESPA Mindset sessions all take place in the first term through both our CPSD curriculum and your child’s form tutors.

We also appreciate that Sixth Form is step on your child’s future journey and that they will be thinking ahead to life after A Levels.

Our CPSD programme and our links with outside providers ensures that your child is supported in making career and education choices that are right for them.

Please see our Events page for a sample of what is offered to support your child in applying for university, apprenticeships or further education.

I warmly welcome you to look around our site to see what Christ the King Sixth Form can offer you and I always suggest speaking to our current sixth form students who will given you an honest assessment of life at Christ the King.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
