Student Absences

Student Services should be contacted in case of any absences, current or upcoming. This could include illness, medical appointments, interviews or driving tests. We also ask that you get in touch on each day of absence.

Please inform your teachers of your absence and request work so that you can catch up on work missed.

Attitude and academic progress

Post 16 Study is one of the most challenging times in your education journey. You are expected to demonstrate a commitment to academic study and work throughout the course.

Attendance to lessons supports your progress during this time and free study periods in school should be used to complete academic independent study. You can use the Sixth Form common room, Sixth Form computer suite, the Sixth Form foyer or any free classroom to complete independent study.

This should be supported with a comprehensive programme of study and work completed at home. Developing appropriate study habits will support your achievement and prepare you for the next phase of your educational journey.
